A. LONG PRAYER.

O MY GOD, I thank You for all Your goodness towards me during this day. I thank You for all Your good gifts, for Your help and protection, for food and shelter, for joys and sorrows, hopes and disappointments, success and failure.
O my God, I offer You all the actions of this day: thoughts, words and deeds; I beseech You to save the good and destroy evil. you know that I am weak and never succeed in doing things as well as I desire. Enlighten me and let me know in what I have sinned.

Did I put the law of God above all things?
Did I respect God, trust in Him, accept what He sent me?
Did I work conscientiously or I was lazy?
Dis I obey my parents and superiors?
Did I respect every man as a child of God?
Was I straight in my talks, honest in my dealings, fair to all?
Did I give me the good example to all around me?
Have I been helpful and kind at home and at work?
Did I sin against temperance, patience, moral purity in thoughts, conversations or deeds?
Did I sin through anger, jealousy, vanity, pride?

An Act of Contrition
O my God, I am heartily sorry for having offended Thee, and I detest all my sins because of thy just punishments, but most of all because they offend Thee, my God, who art all good and deserving of all my love. I firmly resolve with the help of Thy grace to sin no more and to avoid the near occasion of sin. Amen.

The Lord's Prayer
Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name.
Your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
Amen.

A Universal Prayer
O Lord, I pray to You for all men, my brothers. Bless my parents and my family, my friends and my enemies. Fill the leaders of nation with wisdom and courage, religious men and women with devotion, mothers with unstinted love. Give the cult of duty to officials, a sense of justice to businessmen, a high conscience to professional men. Bless the farmers with an abundant harvest. Keep the pilgrim and the traveller safe and lead them to their journey's end. Give patience to the prisoner, move the sinner to repentance. Heal the sick, console the afflicted, take care of orphans, do justice to the oppressed. Bring the sailor on the high seas, the pilot in the air safely to port. Strengthen and comfort the dying. Take special care of children and students, that they may grow in strength, wisdom and grace. Give us understanding, sympathy and charity for one another, since we are all brothers, the children of our Father in heaven. Make us have faith and trust in You, because You love us more than anyone does. Make our hearts crave for You and seek You in all things, and finally possess You, O my God, who are Truth, Goodness and Beauty.
